The best M4 build in Modern Warfare 4

Ol' reliable saves the day again

The best M4 build in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is one of the most reliable choices in the game, and if you've been playing Call of Duty games for a while, that should come as no surprise. The M4 has always been the jack-of-all-trades assault rifle, capable of handling any combat situation, whether it's at long-range, up close, or somewhere in between.

Since the M4 is one of the most popular guns in Modern Warfare 4, here's the best build and loadout for the gun, including all the attachments you should use.

Best M4 build in Modern Warfare 4

Here's the best M4 build in Modern Warfare 4:

• Muzzle: FSS IS300
• Underbarrel: FSS Fireline Grip
• Laser: SA LAZ-500
• Stock: Demo Dozer Stock
• Rear Grip: Brace DX Grip

Build code: A05-6AI8C-WYY11

Making the M4 the best it can be means ensuring it can handle long-range fights without too much recoil, so the goal with this build is to increase the accuracy, while also maintaining its mobility. The FSS IS300 heavy silencer has significant buffs to the damage range and ADS recoil control, making it arguably the most important attachment here. The hit to the ADS speed can be countered with the SA LAZ-500 laser, as this only improves the ADS speed with no other drawbacks — the laser isn't even visible to enemies.

The FSS Fireline Grip gives even more significant buffs to the recoil control, while the Brace DX Grip does the same, along with a minor buff to the gun kick. Finally, we have the Demo Dozer Stock. This increases the ADS speed even further, meaning you're not at too much of a disadvantage when you're up close and personal.

A number of popular M4 builds use high velocity rounds, but when you have the FSS IS300 attached, this isn't necessary. Bullet velocity is how quickly your shots will connect with your target, but unless you're playing Ground War or Warzone, you're very rarely going to be in a combat encounter where that would make a difference because the maps in Modern Warfare 4 aren't big enough.

Best M4 loadout and class in Modern Warfare 4

Here's the best class to use with the M4 in Modern Warfare 4:

• Secondary: Sang 9mm
• Melee: FSS Carbon Edge 1095
• Tactical: Flash Grenade
• Lethal: Semtex
• Field Upgrade: Trophy System
• Perks: Ghost, Hardline, and Cold-Blooded

There are four pistols in Modern Warfare 4, and while the Desert Eagle is definitely the coolest, the Sang 9mm is the most useful for those last-resort scenarios where you need to whip out your secondary in close-quarters combat, since it has the fastest fire rate. The Flash Grenade and Semtex throwables are two reliable picks that serve this build well, while the Trophy System is a huge help if you're playing objective-based modes, or holding a chokepoint.

When it comes to the perks, enemy callouts and UAVs are your worst enemy, so Ghost is an essential pick to ensure you're not detected by them. Hardline will ensure you can earn your killstreaks easier, although this one is interchangeable with Fast Hands or Ninja, depending on your personal preference. Finally, much like Ghost, Cold Blooded will prevent you from being seen by AI targeting systems, Snapshot Grenades, Recon Drones, and the like.
