- Ultrahuman has responded to the lawsuit filed by Oura alleging that the Ring Pro violates two of its patents.
- The company has rejected the patent infringement claims and says it will respond through legal channels.
- Oura filed its lawsuit in a Texas federal court last week, seeking a ban on Ring Pro sales in addition to monetary damages.
Oura has filed multiple lawsuits against rival smart ring manufacturers, and even secured a ban on the Ultrahuman Ring Air over a patent dispute in 2025. Fast forward to last week, when the company filed a new federal lawsuit alleging that Ultrahuman’s newer model, the Ring Pro, violates two Oura patents, and the smart ring manufacturer is once again staring down the threat of a ban. Ultrahuman has now responded to the allegations, reiterating claims made by the co-founder and CEO Mohit Kumar last week.
In an extended statement shared with Android Authority, Ultrahuman says it remains confident in the Ring Pro and that it “represents a substantially redesigned generation” of the company’s tech. The manufacturer adds that the US Customs and Border Protection found no violation of Oura’s patents mentioned in the Ring Air lawsuit last year.
