Authorities seized 1,500 sacks of fertiliser allegedly stockpiled illegally at a warehouse of Naim Auto Mobile and Seed Store in Damurhuda, Chuadanga, and sealed the premises on the night of October 24.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Sazzad Hossain and Upazila Agriculture Officer Krishna Sarkar were present during the operation.
The proprietor, Naim Hossain, has been accused of selling fertiliser illegally. The establishment has reportedly faced fines in mobile court drives several times before, but agriculture officials had not placed it under monitoring.
Damurhuda Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sheikh Mesbah Uddin said at around 11:30pm on October 24 that a case against Naim Hossain, to be filed by the upazila agriculture officer over the illegal stockpiling of 1,500 sacks of fertiliser, was being processed. #EK
