The Constituency Election Director, Dr. Collins R. Nunyonameh, commended delegates, aspirants, supporters and other participants for their comportment throughout the electoral process. He congratulated the newly elected executives and urged them to begin work immediately to advance the affairs of the constituency.
Mawunyo Agbe, in his acceptance speech, expressed appreciation to all aspirants for participating in the contest, and appealed to those who lost to put the election behind them and support the new leadership. “During the campaign, you might have stepped on toes, please forgive and forget so that we can live as one family,” he said, stressing the need for reconciliation and cooperation.
He said the election had produced its winners and that the immediate priority was to unite the membership and work collectively towards the future of the party. He said the new leadership would need the support of all members to strengthen the constituency’s structures and advance its objectives.
The new executive is expected to focus on grassroots organisation, mobilisation and unity as it begins its four-year mandate. The election was conducted peacefully, with reports indicating that the exercise proceeded without any major incident.
