England captain Harry Kane has won the 2026 Ballon d’Or, capping a remarkable season for Bayern Munich in which he established himself as one of the most prolific goalscorers in world football.
The 33-year-old is recognised for an outstanding campaign that saw him score 73 goals for club and country, including 61 for Bayern Munich, as he emerged as one of the leading contenders for football’s most prestigious individual honour.
Kane helped Bayern secure the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal titles, further strengthening his case after another prolific season in Germany.
The former Tottenham Hotspur striker has continued to deliver consistently since joining Bayern in 2023, combining clinical finishing with intelligent movement and his ability to create opportunities for team-mates.
A Ballon d’Or triumph would make Kane the first Englishman to win the men’s award since Michael Owen in 2001, ending a 25-year wait for an English winner.
The achievement would also represent the biggest individual milestone of Kane’s career, following years of prolific performances for Tottenham, Bayern Munich and England.
Kane’s success would cap a memorable evening at the London Palladium, where the world’s leading footballers gathered for the 70th edition of the Ballon d’Or ceremony.
