Meghan Markle won’t be in The Gentlemen season 3, but the Duchess of Sussex has booked a new TV role. Meghan will appear as a special guest on Junior MasterChef Australia, Paramount Australia and New Zealand announced in a press release. People understands that she will film the series in Australia “for just a few weeks” in 2027, and her husband, Prince Harry, and their children, Archie and Lilibet, won’t relocate there.
Meghan will join host Poh Ling Yeow to “help guide the next generation of young culinary talent,” Paramount wrote.
Meghan, who made a guest appearance on MasterChef Australia earlier this year, said in a statement, “I had an incredible time with the whole team at MasterChef this past April, so when they approached me to come back and work with this young group of talent, it was an easy yes. I love cooking with my own kids, so seeing what these young stars create in the kitchen is going to be a lot of fun. I can’t wait to see what they cook up!”
Yeow said, “I’m thrilled to bits that Junior MasterChef is returning to our screens. People often ask me whether it might come back, so I know the news will be met with plenty of excitement. I had a lovely time filming with Meghan earlier this year, and being reunited will be a real treat. I can’t wait to meet our pint-sized culinary adventurers—I’m expecting plenty of delicious surprises and a little mischief, too.”
Meghan and Harry currently live in the U.K.; they relocated there for “an extended period,” per their rep, at the end of August.
Last week, a source told The Telegraph that Meghan is working to get back into acting. She has been reviewing scripts and was advised not to share what she was reading with her friends or wider circle.
“They’re being very cautious about which scripts they agree to read at the moment,” the source said of Meghan and her team. “Everyone knows that whatever Meghan’s first film or show turns out to be, it’s going to attract huge interest. The prospect of seeing her return to acting will drive big audiences, and ultimately, someone—whether it’s Netflix, Amazon, or another studio—is going to make a lot of money from it.”
