Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The exchange rate of the U.S. dollar against the Iraqi dinar held largely steady across parallel trading desks in major commercial centers on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, with wholesale purchase transactions settling around the 168,000 dinar threshold per $100.
According to morning monitoring reports, exchange bureaus in Baghdad maintained steady levels, quoting selling prices at 168,500 dinars against buying bids of 167,500 dinars per $100.
In Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, counters listed selling rates at 168,000 dinars alongside buying offers of 167,350 dinars. Across the southern commercial hub of Basra, foreign exchange desks registered selling prices at 168,100 dinars per $100, while purchase bids stood at 167,750 dinars.
The prevailing market rates continue to reflect a wide gap compared to the Central Bank of Iraq’s official statutory exchange rate, which remains pegged at 152,000 dinars per $100 (1,520 dinars per dollar).
The relative stability follows days of minor downward adjustments after prime ministerial assurances regarding upcoming physical dollar cash shipments aimed at cooling parallel market premiums.
