Hilton Worldwide $HLT Holdings raised its full-year forecast for growth in revenue per available room, known as RevPAR, to between 4% and 4.5% on Tuesday as it reported third-quarter results. Hilton stock fell 5% in premarket trading.
The projection covers system-wide RevPAR on a comparable and currency-neutral basis compared with 2025. Hilton's previous forecast was an increase of 3% to 3.5%.
System-wide comparable RevPAR rose 5.8% in the third quarter from a year earlier on a currency-neutral basis. Net income was $536 million, adjusted earnings were $2.45 a share and adjusted EBITDA was $1.06 billion.
Total revenue was $3.33 billion, an increase of 6.6% over the prior-year period. That fell short of the $3.37 billion consensus estimate, according to Reuters. Analysts had expected adjusted earnings of $2.36 a share, according to Reuters.
Demand for leisure and business trips held steady, buoying guest spending at hotels ranging from budget to luxury, according to Reuters. Hilton's room revenue in the U.S. rose 7% in the quarter, while room revenue in the Middle East and Africa fell 5.6%.
Hilton cautioned that both the Middle East conflict and the U.S. midterm elections might dampen its results in the final three months of the year, according to Reuters. The company said it anticipates further growth across the Middle East and Africa, noting it logged over 20 signings in the third quarter, according to Reuters.
Hilton projected full-year net income of $1.91 billion to $1.92 billion and full-year adjusted EBITDA of $4.06 billion to $4.08 billion. It expects to return about $3.5 billion to shareholders in 2026.
