Thus far, New Balance’s new 983 lifestyle sneaker has been released in contrasting Shadow Blue/Zinc Blue and Shadow Red/Pebble styles with an additional two styles set for an early November launch in Cherry Leather/Dark Night and Bayberry/Concrete. But ahead of those looks, yet another 983 style is arriving now at retailers, and it’s the most vibrant look yet to appear on the Y2K-inspired design.
The New Balance 983 is available now in a just-released Field Green/Fennel Seed style. Unlike the aforementioned colorways, this new neon green style has yet to be announced or released through official New Balance channels, but several retailers are already stocking the pair.
Like the other 983 styles seen so far, the Field Green/Fennel Seed makeup pairs a mesh base with glossy, patent leather-like synthetic overlays in two tones of green.
All in all, three different hues of light green are used throughout the colorway, which also mixes in New Balance-appropriate gray while using contrasting red elements on the shoe’s signature Abzorb SBS cushioning pods. This design decision allows the shoe’s tech to stand out, giving it an almost glowing effect.
In addition to the Field Green/Fennel Seed style seen here, New Balance will launch more 983 colorways in the aforementioned Bayberry/Concrete and Cherry Leather/Dark Night on Nov. 2. Ahead of that launch, the latter look is available early from Foot Locker.
New Balance introduced the 983 in September ahead of its official release in October. Its reveal was accompanied by a campaign starring signature brand athlete Coco Gauff which will include recording artist Aminé in upcoming drops.
“It was fun bringing the vision to life with Aminé and getting creative with styling the shoe in different ways. I love pieces that are fashion-forward but still easy to wear, and the 983 goes with any outfit,” Gauff said in a September press release ahead of the 983 launch.
The New Balance 983 Field Green/Fennel Seed (style code U9834EV) is available now from select retailers including Champs, Foot Locker, Snipes, Tops & Bottoms and Wish. Retail pricing is set at $160. Readers can find a full look at the new style in the gallery below.
