Gate built its name as a crypto exchange. Lately, a big share of its users have been trading memory chip stocks.
The exchange’s equity trading volume topped $90 billion in the four months since it launched its stock trading service, Gate Stock, in June 2026. That figure accounts for nearly 60% of Gate’s non-crypto trading volume over the period.
Where the $90 billion went
The standout name was Sandisk. The flash storage company posted a 7-day trading volume of $12.43 billion on Gate, the highest weekly figure recorded for any equity on the platform.
SK Hynix, the South Korean memory chipmaker, followed with $2.25 billion in weekly volume. Micron, trading under the ticker MU, cleared $600 million in its strongest week.
Then there was SpaceX. After its IPO, the rocket company generated more than $1.54 billion in volume on Gate shortly after listing.
Not just stocks: metals and ETFs
Equities did not carry the non-crypto business alone. Precious metals made up roughly 30% of Gate’s non-crypto trading volume, totaling more than $46 billion.
ETFs and indices contributed another 7%.
The broader market backdrop helped. Over roughly the same window, the S&P 500 rose approximately 17% and the Nasdaq gained more than 26%.
How Gate got here
Gate’s push into traditional assets did not start with Gate Stock. Earlier in 2026, the exchange’s weekly TradFi volumes peaked near $98 billion, and February monthly totals came in around $95 billion.
The company’s Q2 2026 report put its user base above 58 million. It also highlighted coverage of more than 12,500 stocks and ETFs spanning the US, Hong Kong, and Korean markets.
