Golden State Warriors vs Denver Nuggets Game Preview:
Golden State Warriors:
The Golden State Warriors are 0-3 following yesterday's 131-122 loss to the Phoenix Suns.
Rookie forward Yaxel Lendeborg, the 11th overall pick out of Michigan, led Golden State with 26 points. De'Anthony Melton added 25, and Brandon Williams finished with 20.
With an average age of 29.4, the Warriors have the oldest roster in the NBA, and questions about their depth have surfaced early this season.
Jimmy Butler is still recovering from a January ACL tear, while Kristaps Porzingis will be away from the team for “the immediate future” due to a health-related matter, the Warriors announced last week.
Stephen Curry, 38, was limited to just 43 games last season. Although he has appeared in two of three games this season, he tweaked his right ankle in practice before the Warriors' opener.
Golden State is looking to avoid missing the playoffs in consecutive seasons for the first time since 2020-2021.
Denver Nuggets:
The Denver Nuggets rallied from a 23-point deficit, defeating the New Orleans Pelicans 141-135 in their first win of the season.
Jamal Murray dropped a game-high 42 points. Nikola Jokic recorded a triple-double, finishing with 35 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists.
