Speaking during an appearance on The People's Breakfast programme on Radio Generation on Monday, October 27, Gachoka argued that Sifuna's most valuable political ally at this stage is Rigathi Gachagua, the former deputy president.
He framed the alliance in terms of the Mt. Kenya vote, which he described as the central prize in the 2027 election contest.

"What Matiang'i is looking for through MP Ndindi Nyoro is what Sifuna already has through Rigathi Gachagua and Tony Gachoka," Gachoka said, presenting former Interior Cabinet secretary Fred Matiang'i as a rival for the same regional support base.
Nairobi as a non-negotiable condition
Gachoka, also eyeing the Nairobi gubernatorial seat, was explicit about the terms under which the Mt. Kenya region would back Sifuna's bid, stating that a Kikuyu gubernatorial candidate for Nairobi is an absolute requirement.
"It is a condition for president to get the mlima vote to give Nairobi to a Kikuyu. That is unnegotiable. And I can speak on my own behalf, on behalf of Rigathi Gachagua, and the mountain on that issue," he said.
He drew historical comparisons to the political partnership between the late Michael Wamalwa Kijana and late former president Mwai Kibaki, arguing that a Kikuyu-Mulembe alliance had been tested before and delivered strong electoral results.
"The day Mt. Kenya will hold Edwin Watenya Sifuna's hands, he will be the sixth president of the Republic of Kenya very early in the morning," Gachoka declared.
Gachoka turns on Orengo and Babu Owino
The sharpest portion of his remarks was directed at two senior Luo Nyanza figures within the Linda Mwananchi framework.
Gachoka cited Embakasi East MP Babu Owino's formation of The Mwananchi Party (TMP) and Siaya governor James Orengo's recent launch of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) in Kwale as acts of deliberate sabotage against Sifuna's leadership.
"Can you stop undermining Edwin Sifuna? This is uncalled for, it is unnecessary, and it is time to stop this charade," Gachoka said, addressing the two politicians directly.
He accused Luo Nyanza of repeating a pattern of weakening western Kenya's leadership prospects, arguing that the Mulembe Nation had consistently supported the late former premier Raila Odinga throughout his political career, yet was now being undermined when one of its own sought to lead.
"We are going to take him without you because this guy is a generational gem," Gachoka said of Sifuna, characterising him as a once-in-a-generation opportunity for political change.
