NSF certification is an important market qualification. Depending on the product and its intended application, the certification may address the safety of materials and components that come into contact with drinking water, as well as specific product performance requirements. For example, NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 establishes minimum health-effects requirements for products, components, and materials used in drinking water systems, including mechanical treatment products, filters, and process media. It does not, by itself, establish filtration performance or claims about contaminant removal.
“Obtaining NSF certification is an important milestone for H2O Innovation and its Lama product line,” said Frédéric Dugré, President and Chief Executive Officer of H2O Innovation. “It demonstrates our ability to meet the expectations of the North American water market while making our filtration expertise more accessible to municipal and industrial customers. This achievement reflects our continued focus on product quality, engineering excellence, and the delivery of solutions that support safe, efficient, and sustainable water management.”
As an initial step in the North American market development, H2O Innovation’s Lama product linehad already obtained the Water Quality Association (WQA) Gold Seal certification for its screen filters (Automesh, Calado, EKO, EkoLU). This certification enabled the division to participate in selected drinking water projects and supports the deployment of its filtration technology in applications where independent third-party verification is required. One example is the first Lama filtration units supplied for integration into H2O Innovation’s FLEXBOX™ UF systems. FLEXBOX™ UF systems are pre-engineered, containerized and mobile water treatment plants that incorporate the equipment required for treatment into a rapidly deployable package. They are designed to support applications such as emergency water treatment, temporary capacity increases, and scheduled maintenance, including drinking water applications.
