Tyler Perry is making some major moves, literally. The entertainment mogul has put his iconic Beverly Hills mansion on the market for $57 million (roughly R980 million), with plans to start a quieter life in Puerto Rico by 2027, closer to his 11-year-old son, Aman.
The property sits within the gated Beverly Ridge Estates community and stretches across approximately 22.5 acres. The main residence covers nearly 24,600 square feet and was completed in 2012, nearly a decade after Perry originally bought the land for around $4.3 million in 2004. The scale of the development, combined with its location in one of California's most coveted neighbourhoods, explains the hefty asking price, though the final figure will ultimately depend on negotiations with prospective buyers.
Inside Perry's Mediterranean marvel
The mansion is designed in a Mediterranean style and boasts eight bedrooms and 15 bathrooms. Beyond the sleeping quarters, the home includes a library, home theatre, games room, music room, wine cellar and a swimming pool. There is also a separate guesthouse and dedicated staff accommodation, making it an ideal retreat for wealthy buyers who value both luxury and privacy within reach of Los Angeles.
The estate's most talked-about chapter, however, involves none other than the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from their senior royal roles and relocated to California in 2020, Perry opened his doors to the couple, providing them with a private home and security cover during what was an extraordinarily turbulent period in their lives. They lived at the Beverly Hills property temporarily before eventually settling into their own home in Montecito.
A broader real estate shake-up
The Beverly Hills listing is only part of a larger portfolio reshuffle. Earlier in 2026, Perry also placed his Jackson Hole estate in Wyoming on the market for approximately $39.5 million, bringing the combined asking price of his two listings to $96.5 million.
Perry still holds significant property elsewhere, including his Atlanta base, where Tyler Perry Studios continues to operate, and a private island in the Bahamas. His real estate footprint has long mirrored the ambition and scale of his entertainment empire, built on decades of film and television work, most famously through the beloved Madea franchise.
The planned Puerto Rico relocation is not a retirement, but rather a deliberate recalibration. Perry has made clear that he intends to ease back on his workload while staying professionally active, with his son's well-being at the centre of that decision. The Beverly Hills mansion sale marks a significant moment in that transition.
