INDIANAPOLIS — Herald Bulletin Sports Reporter Rob Hunt was honored recently by the Indiana High School Wrestling Coaches Association for his coverage of the sport.
Thursday at a banquet in Indianapolis, Hunt received a plaque for being selected to receive the organization's 2026 Distinguished Media Award.
"It would be accurate to call Rob a friend of wrestling," Pendleton Heights boys wrestling coach Dave Cloud said in introducing Hunt as the award recipient.
"While that statement would be completely true, it would greatly sell short what Rob means to the entire sports community of our area. Rob covers every sport as if it is his lifelong passion.
"Rob has distinguished himself by taking the time to get the story right, to make it fair and, as is always critical in the news business, to get it in on time," Cloud continued.
Hunt, a graduate of the IU-Purdue Indianapolis School of Journalism, has been a sports reporter at The Herald Bulletin since 2017. In addition to reporting on local high school sports, he coordinates all of the newspaper's sports coverage.
