Hanjin (002320.KS) said on the 26th that it has opened and begun operating the Hanjin Toronto Fulfillment Center in Toronto, Canada.
Hanjin, which already runs a fulfillment center in Los Angeles, set up the Canadian logistics base to meet K-beauty demand spreading across North America. Toronto is Canada's economic hub and the country's most active market for K-beauty consumption, the company said.
The Toronto facility covers about 4,200 pyeong, or roughly 13,900 square meters, near Toronto Pearson International Airport. It is equipped with the temperature and humidity controls and sanitary standards required to store and handle cosmetics, and has received facility certification under Health Canada regulations. It also secured certification that allows simplified customs inspections when goods cross the border between Canada and the United States.
To mark the opening, Hanjin President Cho Hyun-min and Chief Executive Noh Sam-seok visited the center to review operations. "In step with the explosive growth of K-beauty in the North American market, we have opened a fulfillment center in Canada following Los Angeles," a Hanjin official said. "We will establish ourselves as the optimal smart logistics partner."
