A police reward is being issued for information over the 2025 shooting of Sean O’Reilly in west Belfast, with a renewed appeal and new footage released by detectives.
Taxi driver O’Reilly was shot twice as part of an internal Republican feud as he sat inside his taxi in the Bell Steel Manor area of Poleglass in February last year.

The attack at the time was linked to a fallout between members of Oglaigh na hEireann (ONH).

In a new update police said a £20,000 reward backed by the charity Crimestoppers has been put up as part of the appeal as they released new footage of a person police are looking to help with enquiries.
PSNI Detective Inspector Jack Kelly said: “This attack, in which a number of shots were fired, was a targeted and cold-blooded attempt to take a man’s life.
“It happened in broad daylight in a busy area of west Belfast, when anyone – any passer-by – could also have been injured or killed.
“Such shocking, premeditated violence has absolutely no place in today’s society, and we remain determined in our efforts to bring those responsible to justice.

“Today, we are releasing footage of a man whom we’re keen to speak with, as we believe he may be able to help with our investigation.
“Please take a good look at this footage. Importantly, we would ask you not to speculate about the man’s identity or post comments on social media. If you recognise him, please get in touch.

“I’m also keen to stress that Crimestoppers, who are a charity and independent of police, can be contacted with total anonymity.

“The charity is offering a reward of up to £20,000 for information received directly that leads to the arrest and conviction of any person or people linked to the attempted murder.”
The detective has asked anyone with information to contact the team on 101, quoting reference 664 of 23/02/25.
