Petrobras stock retains a bullish daily bias, with price above a fully ordered set of exponential moving averages. However, an overbought daily RSI at 73.16 and less decisive short-term momentum make resistance levels important tests rather than evidence of a confirmed breakout.

On Friday, October 23, 2026, PBR opened at $25.96. The session ranged from $25.79 to $26.39, closing at $26.16. The gain was 2.11% versus the previous close of $25.62 on October 22, 2026.
Petrobras stock: Daily structure supports the bullish case
The daily averages provide the clearest support for that view. Price stands above the 20-session EMA at $24.41, the 50-session EMA at $22.34, and the 200-session EMA at $18.94. Their bullish alignment gives the daily structure a stronger foundation than the shorter-term momentum readings alone.
However, daily RSI14 stands at 73.16, in overbought territory. The daily MACD line and signal both read 1.34, while the histogram is positive at 0.01. That leaves only a marginal positive separation between the line and signal, rather than a decisive momentum advantage.
Meanwhile, price sits above the daily Bollinger mid-band at $24.18 and below the upper band at $28.12. The lower band is $20.24. Daily ATR14 reads $0.72, providing a volatility reference without establishing whether conditions are unusually active.
Hourly confirmation, with a short-term qualification
The hourly chart confirms the daily direction. The session close sits above the 20-hour EMA at $25.83, the 50-hour EMA at $25.61, and the 200-hour EMA at $23.63. This timeframe also has a complete bullish alignment.
Nevertheless, hourly RSI14 slipped to 61.6 from 62.5, while remaining above 50. The hourly MACD line at 0.12 is above its signal at 0.06, with a positive histogram of 0.06. These readings support the bullish bias, but the RSI change qualifies its strength.
The close also sits above the hourly Bollinger mid-band at $25.76 and below its upper band at $26.31. Hourly ATR14 declined to $0.26 from $0.27. That is a narrower hourly volatility reading, not evidence that the daily trend has changed.
15-minute chart offers less momentum confirmation
In contrast, the 15-minute chart provides less conviction for execution timing. RSI14 declined to 58.64 from 61.04, although it remains above 50. Its MACD histogram fell to 0 from 0.01, leaving the line and signal equal at 0.1. Price remains above the 15-minute 20-EMA at $26.04 and below the upper Bollinger band at $26.27. The conflict concerns immediate timing, not the direction of the daily structure.
Next-session levels and scenarios
For the next session, the daily pivot sits at $26.11, with first resistance at $26.44 and first support at $25.84. The hourly and 15-minute pivots both sit at $26.18, with first resistance at $26.24 and first support at $26.09 on each timeframe. These are reference levels to watch when trading resumes.
Bullish scenario
The bullish scenario requires support at the daily pivot of $26.11 and a move above the hourly pivot at $26.18. Clearing hourly first resistance at $26.24 would strengthen that case. The hourly upper Bollinger band at $26.31, the session high at $26.39, and daily first resistance at $26.44 then define successive overhead tests.
Bearish scenario
Conversely, a break below the daily pivot at $26.11 and hourly first support at $26.09 would weaken the immediate bullish setup. Losing daily first support at $25.84 would invalidate that near-term scenario. The daily 20-session EMA at $24.41 remains a deeper structural reference.
Overall, Petrobras stock stands above its daily pivot and all three daily EMAs, but below the next-session resistance levels. Daily ATR of $0.72 frames volatility, while overbought daily RSI and a neutral 15-minute MACD leave the timing of any resistance break uncertain.
