The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Kebbi State Command, has welcomed Commandant Hassan Mohammed Maidamma as its 17th substantive state commandant.
Maidamma assumed office on Monday, October 26, following the retirement of his predecessor, Commandant K.A. Alkamawa.
The handover ceremony took place at the command headquarters in Birnin Kebbi.
In his farewell address, Alkamawa thanked the Commandant General of the Corps, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, the Kebbi State Government and security agencies for their support during his tenure. He urged them to extend the same cooperation to his successor.
Maidamma thanked the Corps’ national leadership for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to improve service delivery.
He said his administration would prioritise professionalism, operational effectiveness, intelligence gathering and collaboration with other security agencies and host communities to address security challenges.
The new commandant reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, securing critical national assets and infrastructure, managing disasters and supervising private guard companies.
He also pledged to prioritise personnel welfare, continuous training and operational efficiency, while urging officers to remain disciplined, vigilant and professional and respect human rights and the rule of law.
Maidamma called on residents to provide timely and credible information to security agencies to help prevent crime and improve security across the state.
