If you are a fan of FC Bayern Munich, you probably haven’t seen this before. One of our own has won the Ballon d’Or and the world is celebrating because of it. Harry Kane is the proud and deserved recipient of the 2026 edition of the biggest individual award in the sport of football. After an incredible, record breaking season with Bayern Munich and England, the 33-year-old has secured what could be the pinnacle of any player’s individual career.
Of course, Twitter being Twitter, had a complete meltdown after the news was announced. Here are some choice excerpts:

For most people, there was no question. Harry Kane was the best player in the world by far.
His journey was incredible
Harry Kane started out at Tottenham, but moving to Bayern Munich is what made this Ballon d’Or possible. For Kane, it was the best decision of his career. Even though he thanked Tottenham Hotspur for making him who he is, his triumph today is because of that move.
Some crazy context for you
Somehow, Manchester United always find a way to lose. It is comical how every twist of fate is like a dagger from the universe straight to their hearts.
Not everyone was particularly pleased, however.
Others, of course, saw it differently
Neglecting the fact that Neymar and Suarez were never as good as Kane right now, let’s move on.
Do you think the Premier League is jealous?
What a day, for the Bundesliga to have a Ballon d’Or winner again.

In case you didn’t know, InvertTheWing is a moderately psychotic Twitter account that covers football. He has been the number 1 supporter of Harry Kane these past several months.
This must be amazingly cathartic for him. Meanwhile, the betting websites rejoice because the frontrunner won.
