We can’t deny Tom Brady has good taste. Per new reports, the retired NFL star is currently dating Victoria’s Secret angel Candice Swanepoel.
Here’s some backstory. Brady was famously married to OG VS angel Gisele Bündchen for 13 years, but the two divorced in 2022 and the model has since moved on and remarried. But there’s more. Before Brady began dating Swanepoel, he was linked to Joan Smalls, another VS angel, and a longtime friend of Swanepoel. The two models have since had a very public falling out.
When did Tom and Candice start dating?
According to People sources, the two have been dating “for months” and the relationship is “convenient” because they both live in Miami. One source said Swanepoel has “been very secretive and selective about who she’s told about their dating. When they have met up, they’ve gone [to great] lengths not to be spotted.”
How is Joan involved?
After fans wondered why Smalls and Swanepoel didn’t share any photos or moments together at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show earlier this month, Smalls made it clear with a series of social media posts that the two are no longer speaking. “I’m not friends with backstabbers,” she wrote in a since-deleted Instagram comment, before popping into Just Jared’s comments section and describing the drama between her former friend and herself as so Summer House—she wrote: “SUMMER HOUSE ! That'll explain everything.” Fans quickly assumed she was referring to the chaotic love triangle involving the reality show’s cast members Ciara Miller, West Wilson, and Amanda Batula. (Miller was dating Wilson, and she and Batula were close friends, until Batula began seeing Wilson behind her back.)
Per several outlets, Smalls and Brady dated on and off for about a year, and Swanepoel reportedly cautioned Smalls about the relationship, noting that she should have respect for Brady’s ex-wife and their fellow VS angel, Bündchen.
A short time later, Swanepoel reportedly began seeing Brady.
Are Candice and Gisele friends?
While they both have histories with Victoria’s Secret, and ran in similar circles for years, Bündchen retired from the lingerie brand in 2006, while Candice made her debut in 2007—so they never walked the runway together. Smalls, meanwhile, made her VS runway debut in 2011, so she also missed the Bündchen years.
Neither Brady nor Swanepoel have publicly commented on their relationship.
