Speaking during a candid sit-down on the Kwambox Podcast, Jony traced the origin of his public persona back to a very specific moment during his final high school exams.
What triggered Jony's public crossdressing
According to Jony, the decision to step out in full crossdressed looks, complete with makeup and styled hair, was rooted in a desire to get back at his secondary school classmates.
"When actually cross-dressing and makeup and hair and being in the public eye, it was like a form of revenge to my high school schoolmates," he told the Kwambox.
He recalled that on the final day of his KCSE, during the grace period between his chemistry practicals and the upcoming physics paper, something significant happened that stuck with him.
He did not spell out exactly what occurred, but his account suggested that the experience during that quiet in-between moment motivated him to assert himself publicly in a way that would turn heads.
Jony facing backlash over bathroom claims
The clip gained extra attention because of the controversy Jony has been caught up in recently. He and fellow crossdresser Kevin Kinuthia sparked outrage after both publicly stated that they use women's restrooms in public spaces and argued that they should be allowed to do so.
The comments drew fierce criticism from Kenyans online, with many accusing them of disregarding women's safety and privacy.
