An NFL analyst got his revenge on the Carolina Panthers after Sunday's blowout loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Last week, the Panthers improved to 3-2 with a 25-14 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Their social media department celebrated by posting a video of Chris Simms predicting an Eagles victory behind Tanner McKee.
Carolina followed that triumph with a 43-13 home loss to Tampa Bay. A returning Baker Mayfield threw for only 64 yards, but the Buccaneers gutted their NFC South rival with 258 rushing yards and forced four turnovers.
Simms gleefully roasted the Panthers after the Week 7 letdown on PFT Live. Co-host Mike Florio set up the former quarterback to go on the prowl.
"Carolina Panthers, did you think you had a bye week?" Florio asked. "Where were you yesterday?"
"Pumping out their chest like, 'Oh gosh. We went into Philadelphia and beat a third-string quarterback while they were dealing with the most dysfunctional situation in football that week. Look at us. We're amazing. And we had to squeak it out in the fourth quarter to do it,'" Simms said in a mocking tone. "I mean, jeez."

Simms eviscerated the Panthers, noting that even their best play of the game ended poorly. After Darren Waller scored a 50-yard touchdown, the Buccaneers blocked the extra point to score a rare defensive two-point conversion.
"Was that embarrassing? I mean, the 1-5 Yuccaneers come to town and just, you guys laid down," Simms claimed. "You didn't even lay down like some cats. You laid down like some [expletive] street dogs you wussy wussy wussy cats. I mean, that was embarrassing. Holy cow, that was unreal. That was as big a butt-whopping as we've seen in any game all year."
The Panthers don't have to wait long to redeem the loss, as they face the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field this Thursday night.
