Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, known as CZ, joined BNB Standard CEO Alex Odagiu at the Nasdaq opening bell on Monday, putting BNB’s growing Wall Street ambitions on full display.
“I don’t know what shows crypto and tradfi converging more than this,” CZ said in a post on X, reflecting on how far BNB has come since its launch nine years ago.
When BNB started 9 years ago, I never thought I would be ringing the bell for a blockchain token (treasury) on NASDAQ one day. I don’t know what shows crypto and tradfi converging more than this. #BNB Standard https://t.co/2NStJn1tBE

The ceremony marked BNB Standard’s rebrand from CEA Industries and Odagiu’s appointment as CEO. The company trades on Nasdaq under the ticker BNC and operates the world’s largest corporate treasury dedicated to BNB.

BNB Standard’s strategy gives traditional stock-market investors exposure to BNB without requiring them to purchase tokens directly or manage crypto wallets.
The company held 515,544 BNB as of July 31, 2026, according to its regulatory filings. Those holdings had an aggregate fair value of $302.3 million at the time, representing 93.1% of its total assets.
At prices around Monday’s ceremony, the treasury was worth $384 million. That figure fluctuates with BNB’s market price, making the company’s financial position closely tied to the token’s performance.
The transformation began last year, when the company raised approximately $500 million through a private placement to establish BNB as its primary treasury asset. Its former business focused on environmental control systems for indoor agriculture before pivoting toward digital assets.
The Nasdaq appearance of CZ was not an initial public offering. BNB Standard was already publicly traded, and the ceremony celebrated its new identity and leadership.
For CZ, the moment offered a striking illustration of how crypto assets have entered traditional financial markets. Investors can now gain indirect BNB exposure through publicly traded equity, while the company can access conventional capital markets.

CZ, NASDAQ, and BNB Bet Goes Beyond Holding Tokens
BNB Standard wants to build an operating business on BNB Chain rather than simply accumulate BNB and wait for its price to rise.
Its first major step is a planned validator operation. The company announced on October 19 that it would select a specialist infrastructure provider to manage technical operations under its oversight.
The company intends to keep its treasury tokens with qualified custodians throughout the staking process. Validator rewards could provide an additional source of income, although returns depend on network activity and operational performance.
CEO Alex Odagiu has identified two priorities: increasing the amount of BNB held per share and developing an operating business on BNB Chain. The company has also discussed bringing institutional investors into the ecosystem.
That strategy places BNB Standard within a growing group of publicly traded companies using digital assets as treasury reserves. Bitcoin remains the dominant asset in this corporate treasury trend, but BNB offers a different proposition through its role in transaction fees, staking, and applications across BNB Chain.
The challenge is turning token exposure into a durable business. A falling BNB price can reduce treasury value, while validator income and future blockchain ventures must generate meaningful returns to support the company’s ambitions.
CZ appearance at Nasdaq represents more than a ceremonial milestone. It shows an increasingly direct connection between crypto ecosystems and public equity markets.
BNB Standard now has to show that its Wall Street access can translate into lasting value for shareholders and sustained activity across BNB Chain.
