KUALA LUMPUR: The Mokhtar Dahari Academy (AMD) Under-16 team have won the inaugural National Youth League.
AMD completed the league unbeaten, registering 17 wins and one draw. They drew with Terengganu FA, who finished second, in their final fixture at the Mokhtar Dahari National Football Academy in Gambang, Pahang, on Sunday.
FAM president Datuk Ab Ghani Hassan presented the championship trophy and winners' medals to the AMD squad.
Ghani said the league would help accelerate the development of young players and prepare them for elite-level competition.
"Tournaments like the National Youth League not only sharpen individual technique, tactical awareness, and match fitness, but crucially instil discipline, team spirit, and mental resilience," Ghani said.
