An inquiry into six Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) officers suspended over the illegal approval of the layout plan (LOP) of a housing project has not been completed nine months after it began. The inquiry officer is due to retire from service next year.
According to media reports, the six officers were suspended after a probe report found that the layout plan for University Town was approved for 3,400 kanals, although the project owned only 1,700 kanals.
The secretary of the Housing, Urban Development and Public Health Engineering Department took notice of the report. He directed the then RDA director general, Kanza Murtaza, to initiate legal action against those responsible.
The suspended officers are Deputy Director Planning Samiullah Khan Niazi, Assistant Director Planning Shaza Tanveer, Assistant Director Land Haji Dilshad, Scheme Superintendent Shafqat Shah, Scheme Inspector Tariq Kamboh and Draftsman Muhammad Afzal of the MP&T Directorate.
Director Finance Masood Arshad was appointed inquiry officer to investigate the matter.
