Pop-Tarts, which is part of Mars Inc., and Liquid Death announced a limited-time toaster pastry on Tuesday called Pop-Tarts Liquid Death Squeezed to Death Frosted Orange. It is the first Liquid Death-inspired flavor from Pop-Tarts, the companies said.
The pastry will reach participating retailers beginning in November. Suggested retail prices are $4.69 for a 12-count box and $4.97 for a 16-count box, and availability may vary by retailer.
The flavor is based on Liquid Death's Squeezed to Death Orange soda-flavored sparkling water. The pastry is filled with citrus-flavored jam, has a crust in a golden orange shade, and is topped with frosting and orange sprinkles, the companies said.
"Limited-time collaborations, like this one with Liquid Death, offer a new way to experience both brands," Kim Holowiak, director of growth and marketing at Pop-Tarts, said in a statement.
The pastry is the second product collaboration between the two brands. Earlier this year, they turned the Frosted Strawberry Pop-Tarts pastry into Pop-Tarts Carnage, a limited-edition Liquid Death iced tea.
"First we made Liquid Death iced tea taste like Pop-Tarts Frosted Strawberry. Now Pop-Tarts has returned the favor with a toaster pastry that tastes like our orange soda-flavored sparkling water," Greg Fass, vice president of marketing at Liquid Death, said in a statement.
The pastry will be packaged in a black box that matches Liquid Death's usual packaging, according to Allrecipes.
As part of the launch, Pop-Tarts is running a sweepstakes for the Bad Morning Alarm Clock, a collaboration product that sounds screams, dental drills, car horns, smoke alarms and metal scraping. A handful of the clocks exist, the companies said.
The sweepstakes runs from 10 a.m. ET Wednesday to 5 p.m. ET Friday. To participate, fans need to tag a friend who is not a morning person and include #PopTartsBadMorningGiveaway on the designated post at @poptartsus on Instagram or @poptarts on TikTok. Entrants must follow the account and like the post.
The sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia who are 18 or older. No purchase is necessary. Kellanova, the Mars subsidiary that owns Pop-Tarts, is the sponsor.
