yerThe Jacksonville Jaguars have a receiver room decision to make. And they have problems they need to fix. But looking ahead to 2027, here is their NFL Draft, according to the Pro Football Focus simulator, as they come off their bye week.
The Jaguars have a record of 4-2. They are coming off a tough 34-31 loss to the Texans. What are some of the needs for head coach Liam Coen and the Jaguars that next year’s draft could help turn into strengths?
Round 1, Pick 28: S Ty Benefield, LSU
It’s a good opportunity for the Jaguars to upgrade their secondary. Benefield brings plenty of talent from the college ranks, according to The Ringer.

“He’s long and fast enough to match up with tight ends, and he has good range and instincts in single-high looks,” The Ringer wrote. “Benefield is a long strider and a big, physical presence over the middle. He’s a natural hands catcher who tracks the ball like a wide receiver, intercepting four passes over the past two seasons. His length also allows him to break up passes in phase and compete for 50-50 balls.
“Benefield has the potential to develop press-cover skills, but his footwork at the line and ability to locate the ball with his back to the quarterback need improvement. He’s tight and faster than quick, which can lead to separation at the top of his routes. He’s also overly physical and was penalized five times in coverage in 2025.”
There’s always room on NFL rosters for players with this kind of ability. And the Jaguars are the beneficiaries of this mock pick.
Round 2, Pick 60: EDGE Clev Lubin, Louisville
NFL teams are always on the lookout for quality players on the edge. This player fits the mold of a player who can help at the next level, according to lastwordonsports.com.
“(Lubin) is a well-rounded prospect who plays with a high motor and is also a very reliable tackler,” Grant Potter wrote. “(He) is also a very consistent pass rusher with a wide array of pass rush moves, a quick first step off the line of scrimmage, and great closing speed.
“There are not many better and more productive pass rushers in college football. However, the concern for Lubin is that he is an undersized edge defender who lacks ideal arm length for the position and also has good but not elite overall athletic ability. Lubin does not have elite physical traits, but he does have a quick first step, plays with good leverage, and has solid play strength.”
Round 3, Pick 92: WR Charlie Becker, Indiana
The stock is on the rise for Becker, according to Sports Illustrated.
“Few players in college football have seen their stock rise quite like Becker over the past year,” Zach Browning wrote. “After emerging as a reliable target down the stretch last season, the 6-foot-4 receiver has taken another significant step forward in 2026.
“From an NFL perspective, there’s an awful lot to love about his game. Becker possesses elite track speed, an enormous catch radius, and an impressive vertical leap. His ability to win contested catches is arguably his greatest strength.”
The Jaguars already have a dynamic offense. Becker would add yet another element to the mix.
Round 4, Pick 126: TE Lawson Luckie, Georgia
Size is an issue for Luckie, and that will push him down some draft boards, according to NFL Draft Buzz before the 2026 season.
“Marginal yardage on a full season of routes, after-catch numbers close to zero, and route tape in the group’s bottom half describe a player Georgia trusted everywhere except as a primary read,” NFL Draft Buzz wrote. “The frame is light for inline work, and the staff rationed those reps accordingly, leaving him betwixt roles: not the blocker his usage implies, not yet the receiver his speed promises.
“He saw the gap too, and went back to Athens for 2026 with his brother joining the room. A senior season with real target volume would resolve the question his tape keeps asking, because tight ends with this speed and this red-zone knack rarely stay at fifteen catches.”
So far this season, Luckie has 11 catches for 184 yards and two scores.
Round 4, Pick 136: HB Quintrevion Wisner, Florida State
A hamstring injury clipped his ascent to the NFL, but he’s trying to make it work for the Seminoles in 2026.
“The move to Florida State now stacks a new system on top of the medical reset,” NFL Draft Buzz wrote. “Buried in this file is a recent thousand-yard SEC season and an A&M tape that says the player still exists, which is more evidence than most of this tier can offer. A healthy Tallahassee year at even eighty percent of the 2024 version restores a late-round case immediately.
“The projection is a priority free agent with the most credible bounce-back credentials anywhere in this tier, and a hamstring currently holding the pen on all of it.”
Round 6, Pick 166: G Ethan Fields, Alabama
At 6-foot-3 and 320 pounds, Fields seems equipped to make a move to the next level. But he will have to prove himself this season for the Crimson Tide.
Round 6, Pick 174: C Mark Nabou Jr., Texas A&M
Another player who must prove himself, Nabou has his work cut out for him, according to NFL Draft Buzz.
“The grades themselves are stubborn,” NFL Draft Buzz wrote. “His run blocking sits near the bottom of these interiors, Missouri beat him comprehensively in the season’s worst tape, and twelve hurries describe a pocket that bends even when the sack column stays clean. Average movement numbers narrow the projection to gap-and-power schemes, and a 330-pound frame with a recent knee reconstruction is its own actuarial line item.
“The league drafts functional mass with a clean sack sheet late every single year, and three-position interior flexibility is precisely the multiplier that gets such players dressed on game days. A healthy 2026 with improved drive blocking, the skill his weight most implies and least delivers, would push him into the late rounds.”
Round 7, Pick 212: T Elijah Pritchett, Nebraska
It would be a surprise, perhaps, to see Pritchett last this deep into the draft. Overcoming adversity has been a way of life for Pritchett, according to The Athletic.
“You don’t want adversity,” Pritchett said. “Nobody does. But when it comes, what are you going to do? I’ve been through the wringer. I know there’s going to be people that love you. There’s going to be people that hate you. There’s going to be a whole lot of external factors. But at the end of the day, what are you going to do?”
Round 7, Pick 244: WR Devin McCuin, Ohio State
Another late-round steal, McCuin has good traits, according to NFL Draft Buzz.
“His contested volume is low because he rarely had to win in traffic, and he took most of his snaps inside,” NFL Draft Buzz wrote. “The timed speed is real, and it is the trait that should carry to a bigger stage even if the target profile narrows against Big Ten corners.
“The move to Ohio State answers the level question directly, and a spread offense that features a movement slot fits his skill set cleanly. Overall, the speed, hands, and red-zone production are a starter-caliber base, and McCuin projects as a productive slot receiver whose ceiling rides on how the game translates against Big Ten and playoff-level corners.”
