Backbase today introduced Delivery Factory, an AI software factory purpose-built for banking, in which a bank's delivery team works alongside specialist AI agents from the first agreed requirement to working code.

Across more than 10 Backbase implementations over the past 12 months, teams using it delivered twice as fast as traditional teams and 30% faster than teams working with generic AI coding assistants.
A generic coding assistant starts from the code in front of it. Delivery Factory starts from what the bank has agreed. Scoping documents, architecture specifications and meeting notes are combined with Backbase's own product knowledge into one shared project context, and every person and every agent on the team works from it, through design, planning, implementation and review. Requirements stop being re-specified at each handoff, and decisions made in a workshop carry through to the code.
The same implementations reported 80% less effort on requirements and specifications, 40% less coding and review effort, and a 60% increase in test and automation coverage.
Each role on the team has an agent to work with. Business analysts use the Business Analyst Agent to turn the project context into specifications, user stories and acceptance criteria, which become Jira work items. Solution architects use the Solution Architect Agent to weigh design decisions, find reusable services and produce architecture for review. Backend, Mobile and Web Agents prepare implementation plans grounded in the project's requirements and the bank's Backbase version.
Engineers take the reviewed plans into their own coding tools and inspect every code change and verification result before work moves forward, while delivery leads coordinate scope, decisions and planning. The team directs the work throughout, and implementation runs through the bank's connected repositories, development environments and delivery pipelines.
Greg Fahy, CTO Digital Banking at Backbase: “Delivering banking software takes a whole team. Business analysts, solution architects, delivery leads and engineers need to stay aligned as a customer requirement becomes a working experience.
Delivery Factory gives them and their AI agents a shared foundation: what the bank has agreed on, how its project is designed and how Backbase works. That helps teams spend less time reconstructing context and more time delivering the changes their customers need.”
Backbase is also introducing two agents that extend Delivery Factory across the platform lifecycle. The Backbase Migration Agent helps teams bring existing journeys, integrations and business logic to the Banking OS, adapting what a bank already has instead of rebuilding it from scratch. The Backbase Upgrade Agent helps existing customers keep their Backbase platform current, applying platform changes and flagging what needs attention, so upgrades become part of ongoing delivery rather than a separate project.
Delivery Factory is now generally available in all markets.
