In the opinion of many Albertans, the federal government and many Easterners consider Alberta to be its colony and only good for the revenue it brings into the country.

Despite being a country similar to ours, this does not take place in the U.S. There, all states are considered equal, because they each have only two senators.
The provinces of Quebec and Ontario state this is because of their large populations. Yet, when you add the populations of Alberta and British Columbia together, it is larger than that of Quebec. The two provinces have 12 senators in total compared to Quebec’s 26.
We should restructure our Senate so that all provinces have the same number of senators regardless of population. Then our provinces would feel equal to each other.

Many people are complaining about the cost of the referendum. Yes, democracy is expensive.
Are you the kind of person who wants the elites or politicians to decide on every issue? Sounds like a dictatorship to me.
I have now worked eight elections — federal, provincial, municipal, a byelection and now the referendum. Long hours for basic pay. Some elections you work from 7 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. (or later) the next day, ensuring people have the opportunity and ability to vote.
To those complaining about the cost, move somewhere you are not allowed to vote on anything.
