The announcement was shared on Tuesday, October 27, by Linda Mwananchi's PR and communication strategist Abigael Gikonyo, who posted a video of Sifuna's past fiery speeches across the country.
Sifuna warns of closed doors after deadline
Speaking in the video, Sifuna struck a combative tone, framing the movement not as a campaign for personal gain but as a mission to realign Kenya with its constitutional foundations.
"We are not seeking leadership positions; we are seeking to transform this country of ours. We want to get this country back on track, guided by the six important values enshrined in the Constitution," Sifuna said.
The senator also referenced the late former ODM leader Raila Odinga's influence on his politics, insisting that the movement would not be deterred.
"We will not be intimidated by anyone. Honourable Raila Odinga did not raise cowards. We want to restore the rule of law and get rid of this 'mambo ni matatu' style of governance," he added.
Sifuna directed his remarks at political aspirants sitting on the fence, specifically calling out a lawmaker from Webuye East, whose constituency falls within Bungoma county, who had reportedly reached out expressing interest in joining.
"Your MP here from Webuye East sent me a message the other day telling me not to close the door because he is coming. I have no problem with you, but the door closes on October 30 this year. If you have not joined the Linda Mwananchi movement by then, we will bid you goodbye," Sifuna said.
Reacting to the deadline, Gikonyo wrote: "Friddaaaaay! Some of us will be very deliberate and intentional to grow, protect and support, without any apologies, our party leader and ensure Sifunas are elected across the country. We must dominate county assemblies, parliament, Senate and the presidency! With Sifuna leading from the front, it can be done!"
Linda Mwananchi party launch set for October 30
Meanwhile, the registration deadline coincides with the movement's official party launch, also scheduled for Friday, October 30. Gikonyo indicated that a member's registration number would serve as the entry ticket to the launch event.
Sifuna, who is the movement's presidential flagbearer for the 2027 General Election, will follow the launch with a major political rally in Kwale county on Saturday, October 31.
The Linda Mwananchi movement has attracted considerable interest from aspiring candidates across various counties, with political figures from multiple regions reportedly aligning with the party ahead of the next election cycle.
