The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ekiti North Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections, Dr Olusegun Osinkolu, has promised inclusive and people-oriented representation, pledging to prioritise the welfare of constituents if elected.
Osinkolu said his emergence as senator would provide an opportunity to address what he described as years of neglect and backwardness in the district.
The candidate made the pledge during a tour of the five local government areas in Ekiti North Senatorial District: Moba, Ido/Osi, Ilejemeje, Oye and Ikole, according to a statement he made available in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday.
He attributed the district’s alleged underdevelopment to what he described as the nonchalant attitude of its representatives in the National Assembly, urging residents to use the 2027 election to change the situation.
Osinkolu said: “The 2027 senatorial election gives the people of this district the opportunity to effect change and redress the backwardness by voting right, voting for me as the right candidate, whether you belong to the PDP or not.
“If given the mandate, I will prioritise youth and women’s empowerment, quality education, improved healthcare delivery, agricultural development and effective legislation that will attract federal presence and bring dividends of democracy to every corner of Ekiti North.”
He commended PDP supporters across the district for their commitment and determination to secure victory for the party’s candidates in the state.
