Bangladeshi students are showing growing interest in computer science, technology and artificial intelligence (AI) as they explore higher education opportunities in China, officials of Shenyang Urban Construction University said.
Suny Shao, dean of the university’s College of International Education, shared the information at an on-the-spot admission event organised by MalishaEdu Bangladesh at its Banani office, where prospective students were given an opportunity to learn about admission requirements and study options.
“There are 35 majors at our university, of which six are available to international students,” Shao said, mentioning architecture, civil engineering, business administration, and computer science and technology among the available disciplines.
She said international students could study their chosen programmes in English, while those with sufficient Chinese-language proficiency could opt for Chinese-medium instruction where available.
The university currently has more than 800 international students from 50 countries, including around 50 Bangladeshi students, Shao said.
“We expect more than 100 new students from Bangladesh to be admitted to our university next year,” she added.
