Jalen Hurts’ mom, Pamela Hurts, shared the touching gesture of support her students showed after the Eagles quarterback’s blood clot diagnosis.
“Okay, I’m gonna try not to cry, but the district is making today ‘Jalen Hurts Day’ in support,” Pamela said in a TikTok shared on Monday, Oct. 26. Pamela showed off the dozens of handwritten cards wishing for Jalen, 28, to have a speedy recovery and offering support to his family.
In one letter, an eighth grade student wrote, “I’m sorry for everything that you’re going through. I know that it’s hard but I hope our letters cheer you up.” Another student wrote, “Through tough times, keep your head up and do not give up because things will get better soon!”

Pamela told her followers in the video that everyone at her school was wearing green in support of Jalen, “and I have all these cards, which I’m going to read every last one of them.” She added, “Wow, it takes a village, and I’m thankful for my village. I really am.”
Pamela captioned the video, “My school family is better than yours! They are showing so much support for 1!,” referencing the quarterback’s jersey number.
Jalen’s agent Nicole Lynn confirmed on Monday, Oct. 19 that the quarterback would miss the rest of the NFL season after he was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and bilateral pulmonary emboli, which is when a blood clot travels to the lung from another part of the body, per the Cleveland Clinic.
“He is clinically stable and has no significant functional limitations,” Lynn said in the statement, adding that Jalen will begin taking a blood thinner and “he will not be allowed to participate in any contact activities, including football.”
Following the news, Pamela spoke out on TikTok, telling her followers: “Just a reminder y’all, be grateful. Be grateful for where you are and what you have because your life could change at a blink of an eye. Be grateful. What are you grateful for?”
