It takes Mzansi about five seconds to play detective, and this time the clues were hiding in plain sight. Big Brother Mzansi star Sweet Guluva and actress Hope Mbele both shared images on their individual social media pages that appeared to place them in the same spot in Barcelona, Spain, sparking a wave of speculation online.
Neither star tagged the other or directly acknowledged being together. However, eagle-eyed fans noticed the shared backdrop and started piecing things together, sending social media into a frenzy on 25 October 2026.
From Jozi to Barcelona
The trip itself raised eyebrows, with fans noting the leap from South Africa to one of Europe's most glamorous cities. Whether the Barcelona appearance was a romantic getaway or simply two people who happen to share a surname and a travel itinerary remains unconfirmed.
What is clear is that Mzansi's internet sleuths are never off duty, and a matching location tag is all the evidence they need to start talking.
Mzansi notices what the stars did not say
X user @ga_nomali was among the first to connect the dots, posting side-by-side observations under the hashtags #SweetGuluva and #AkhonamathembaZwane, noting that both were seemingly in Spain at the same time.
The post picked up traction quickly, with netizens weighing in from every angle. Some were convinced the shared location was more than a coincidence, while others urged caution.
@sbongamlambo pointed out:
"They are both Mbhele's, so…"
@SuzanSithole2 was quick to cool the room:
"They share the same surname, guys, relax. 🤣"
@RealVee1705, however, was not buying the surname defence, writing:
"Now he won big time, Hope. 😳😳🥵🥵"
