How Mtito Andei Crash Occurred
The accident occurred on Sunday morning, October 25, along the Nairobi–Mombasa Highway in the Kanga area near Mtito Andei, Makueni County.
The bus, which belonged to The Power of the Word Church International, was carrying passengers returning to the Coast after attending a burial in Lugari, Kakamega County, when it collided with a lorry.
Initial reports indicated that the bus had been travelling through the night before the crash. Investigators were examining the circumstances surrounding the collision, with preliminary findings pointing to improper overtaking as a possible contributing factor.
The accident left dozens of families grieving and several passengers injured. The death toll, initially reported at 22, later rose to 24 after more victims succumbed to their injuries.
Authorities and leaders subsequently expressed condolences to the affected families as hospitals attended to survivors and preparations were made to identify and release the bodies of those who died.
For the Mutsunga family and the wider Rabai community, the tragedy represents the loss of loved ones whose absence will be deeply felt.
As relatives and friends mourn the four victims, messages of sympathy continue to offer comfort during a difficult period.
May the departed souls rest in eternal peace.

The clergymen have been identified as Pastor Joseph Vura of the Campaign for Salvation and Healing Ministry Church, Apostle Fonex Paul of the River of Restoration Church, and Pastor Isaac Juma of the Grace Healing Church.
Their deaths have plunged their churches into mourning, striking the same highway where 17 pilgrims died weeks earlier.
