Bangladesh ODI Captain Litton Das could not play the tri-nation series in the United Arab Emirates due to a hip joint injury.
There were concerns about his performance in the first match of the Test series against the West Indies, which will begin tomorrow.
Tigers Head Coach Phil Simmons stated good news about Litton at the press conference, which was held at the Media Conference Room in the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital’s Mirpur on Monday.
One of the areas of interest in Simmons’ press conference was Litton Das.
Asked about his playing prospects, Simmons said, “As far as I know, Litton can play. I will let you know if the situation changes in the next two days. But at the moment he is ready to play.”
Earlier, Litton was ruled out of the recently concluded tri-nation ODI series against Afghanistan and Zimbabwe due to discomfort in the hip joint.
He was supposed to start his journey as a full-time captain in ODIs with this series.
However, the injury did not allow that to happen. After returning home, he underwent a scan. Although some problems were found in it, Litton Das is getting fit in time.
Litton was dismissed for duck in three consecutive innings in the two-match Test series in Australia.
Then, after scoring a fifty in the first innings against Afghanistan, he scored a century in the second innings.
He also set a record for dismissals behind the wicket. He had eight dismissals including seven catches.
