More than 240 women in Quetta are enrolled in vocational courses under the newly launched Youth Vocational Skills Training Programme by Balochistan government, which aims to train over 720 young people in the city.
The programme provides technical and vocational skills aligned with modern industry requirements, with a particular focus on women. It is designed to help participants find employment or start their own businesses, reduce unemployment and promote economic self-reliance.
Current courses include beauty services, hand embroidery and other vocational trades. Training is practical in nature, so that participants can secure jobs or set up small businesses after completing their courses.
The provincial government expects the initiative to improve employment prospects, strengthen women’s economic independence and encourage entrepreneurship among young people across the province.
