Even before the team and fans arrived in Essen, RW supporters made it pretty clear ahead of Tuesday’s cup clash (6:00 p.m.) what they thought of showing hospitality to RB fans: absolutely nothing.
They even quite literally cast their hostility in concrete. On the night before the match between third-division side Rot-Weiss Essen and Champions League participants RB Leipzig, unidentified perpetrators sealed off the entrance to the away section at the Stadion an der Hafenstraße with concrete, clearly intending to deny RB fans access.
They also left the message “Bulls must stay outside today.” On Tuesday morning, an employee of the city of Essen joined RWE staff in tearing the structure down.

This also casts RWE’s official announcement on Monday that “away fans will be denied access to the home sections even with a valid ticket” in a very different light.
An away entrance sealed off with concrete—have you ever seen anything like it?
