A political faceoff has erupted in Uttar Pradesh between the Samajwadi Party and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi. Samajwadi Party leader Anurag Bhadauria hit back at Owaisi for targeting SP president Akhilesh Yadav instead of questioning the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party government. The Samajwadi Party alleged that questions must be asked of the government in power rather than the opposition, accusing Owaisi of acting as the B-team of the Bharatiya Janata Party to divide Muslim votes in upcoming elections. Bhadauria claimed that the people of Uttar Pradesh know which political party AIMIM intends to benefit. Earlier, Owaisi had launched a sharp offensive against the Samajwadi Party, alleging that it had betrayed Muslims despite having dozens of MLAs and failing to prevent communal incidents like Muzaffarnagar. Ground reports indicate that Owaisi is actively holding rallies across traditional Samajwadi Party strongholds, including Bahraich, Kairana, Rampur, and Azamgarh, to consolidate minority support.
