SEREMBAN: Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim said he had the full support of all 24 Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional assemblymen in leading the state government.
He said their support was evident in efforts to ensure the 2027 Negri Sembilan Budget was ready for tabling at the state legislative assembly sitting on Nov 27.
"Claims that I lack support are untrue. All 24 government assemblymen support me. We are focused on preparing the 2027 Negri Sembilan Budget.
"I also have the support of department heads, government assemblymen and former state executive council (Exco) members, although the latter are no longer part of the state administration.
"I hope everyone will cooperate so the state assembly can convene and the budget can be approved," he told reporters after visiting fire victims at a temporary relief centre at the Kampung Sekolah community hall in Gedong Lalang, Ampangan, here today.
Also present was Ampangan assemblyman Datuk Dr Mohamad Rafie Abd Malek.
Ismail said budget preparations were in their final stages, with civil servants, particularly department heads, working together to complete them.
He said there were no changes to the schedule, with the state assembly sitting set to be opened on Nov 26, followed by the Budget tabling on Nov 27.
On assistance for the fire victims, Ismail said the state government, through the Negri Sembilan Islamic Religious Council (Mains), would cover their rent for three months, with the assistance extendable to six months if necessary.
Four houses behind UTC Ampangan were destroyed in a fire on Sunday night.
Reports said the semi-permanent houses were almost 90 per cent destroyed. However, all eight occupants from three families escaped unharmed.
