Pathao has launched Digital Payment on Delivery for its courier and parcel services, allowing customers to pay through bank cards or mobile financial service wallets instead of cash.
Customers will receive a payment link via SMS when their parcel is marked "Out for Delivery" and can select "Pay Now" to complete the transaction digitally, according to a press release.
The feature allows customers to pay at or before delivery without keeping cash ready or arranging exact change. They can also make the payment remotely if they are away from the delivery location.
Pathao said the service aims to simplify courier payments and address common difficulties associated with cash transactions.
For merchant partners, the feature provides an additional payment option for customers. The company said this could improve the shopping experience and customer satisfaction while reducing reliance on cash in e-commerce transactions.
Pathao said the initiative aims to make digital payments a familiar and trusted part of its courier service, giving customers greater flexibility in how they pay for deliveries.
