On Sunday evening, the Detroit Pistons continued their undefeated season thus far with a road win over the Philadelphia 76ers. The 76ers were without a couple of key players, including Joel Embiid and VJ Edgecombe, in this one, but it was still an impressive performance for Detroit on the road pushing its record to 3-0.
After the game, Pistons star Cade Cunningham fired back at the Pistons’ detractors who have doubted them heading into this season.
“It don’t matter. We’re going to keep on going and let whatever people that are talking about us say whatever they want to say about us,” he said, per Hunter Patterson of The Athletic on X, formerly Twitter.

The Pistons had plenty of skeptics heading into this season, considering that they arguably took a step back from a talent perspective this past offseason after being eliminated in the second round last year, with many maintaining that Detroit would have been the rare number one seed to lose in the first round had Franz Wagner not gotten injured for the Orlando Magic.
While winning regular season games won’t be enough to convince the Pistons’ skeptics that they have what it takes to win in the playoffs, it’s still been an impressive start to the year for Detroit, knocking off two theoretical Eastern Conference contenders in the Boston Celtics and now the 76ers in the first week of the season.
Cunningham has resumed playing like an All-Star in the process, scoring 26 points to go along with eight rebounds and eight assists on Sunday.
The Pistons will next hit the floor on Tuesday evening on the road vs the winless New York Knicks.
