Residents and visitors are invited to enjoy an evening of entertainment and fundraising in Puerto Mazarron this November, as a local charity event will support people who dedicate their time to caring for loved ones. The fundraising night will take place on Saturday, November 21, at La Sol, where guests can enjoy live entertainment from Barrington and enter a raffle to win a selection of hampers donated by generous local businesses.
A charity night with music and raffle prizes
The event will raise money for Forget Me Not, a well-known local charity that provides a safe place for people with Alzheimer’s to go, as well as supporting their unpaid carers by giving them opportunities to take a break from their responsibilities and spend some valuable time looking after their own wellbeing.
Local businesses donate hampers for the fundraiser
A range of prizes will be available through the charity raffle, with all draws taking place during the event. The hampers have been sponsored by local businesses, including La Sal Hamper, Ana’s Hamper, 2Let 2Buy 2Sell, Mercer’s, Luz del Sol, Camposol Property Sales and Revamp Pools.
Alongside the chance to win a prize, the evening offers attendees an opportunity to socialise, enjoy live music and contribute to a cause that supports people facing the often-demanding responsibilities of caring for family members or friends.
Forget Me Not, providing much-needed respite for unpaid carers
Forget Me Not helps carers take a few hours away from their daily duties, offering respite sessions every Monday and Thursday at the Cultural Centre in Camposol. These regular gatherings provide carers with an opportunity to relax, recharge and enjoy time for themselves, while knowing their loved ones are safe and well looked after.
Fundraising to support neighbours with Alzheimer’s, carers and their wellbeing
Caring for a loved one can be rewarding, but it can also be physically and emotionally demanding. The Forget Me Not charity ensures that carers have access to moments of rest and connection with others in similar circumstances. The November fundraiser is just one of the initiatives that will bring the community together and raise as much money as possible to help the charity continue its invaluable work in the community.
