(ANSA) - ROMA, 27 OTT - The Italian Ambassador to Tbilisi, Massimiliano D’Antuono, was a guest of the American Chamber of Commerce in Georgia (AmCham Georgia) at an event dedicated to bilateral relations between Italy and Georgia and to the prospects for strengthening economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the two countries. The ambassador was welcomed by the president of AmCham Georgia, Irakli Baidashvili.
In his remarks, Ambassador D’Antuono spoke about the close ties between Italy and Georgia, founded on a long tradition of friendship, mutual respect, and solid economic cooperation (Italy is Georgia’s second-largest trading partner in Europe!) as well as the opportunities offered by the Italian manufacturing sector, technological expertise, and the proven experience of Italian small and medium-sized enterprises, with particular reference to the sectors of infrastructure, transportation, energy, construction, agri-food, and innovation. “Our goal is to further diversify economic relations between Italy and Georgia, strengthen ties between our respective business communities, and foster the development of new partnerships, particularly in sectors where demand for specialized technologies, high-quality products, and international expertise is constantly growing,” said Ambassador D’Antuono.
The meeting continued with a lively discussion, which allowed participants—including members of AmCham Georgia, representatives of the Italian-Georgian Chamber of Commerce (#Itageo), and the business community—to discuss the latest developments in bilateral relations, share experiences, and explore opportunities to strengthen economic and trade ties between the two countries.
