The Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Bay Rays are back for Game 3 of the World Series, with first pitch at 8 p.m. ET Monday at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.
The Rays find themselves in an 0-2 hole as they head home after a disastrous unraveling in Game 2. Tampa Bay jumped out to a four-run lead in the top of the first but didn’t score again as the Brewers chipped away. Sal Frelick tied the game with a leadoff homer in the sixth, and Cooper Pratt drove in Brice Turang with the go-ahead run in the seventh for a 5-4 win.
The Brewers will lean on left-hander Robert Gasser (5-5, 3.87 ERA) in Game 3. He most recently threw five scoreless innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 3 of the NLCS, allowing three hits and a walk while striking out three in a 6-2 win.
The Rays will counter with right-hander Freddy Peralta (10-11, 4.42 ERA), who was named ALCS MVP after allowing just 1 earned run on 9 hits with 9 strikeouts over 12 innings in three appearances, including two starts, against the Cleveland Guardians.
