The NBA games have officially begun. For the Miami Heat, it has done so with a bitter start. After waiting all summer, the Heat fans are finally getting to see their favorite team with a shake-up squad on the court. So far, they have played three games that resulted in losses, but three games still remain slated for October, and hopes are up that things can turn around.
Three more games To Serve In October
This year, the Heat fans had to endure an excruciatingly long wait to see their favorite team ever since Miami failed to make it to the playoffs. However, after many months and surprising roster changes that kept the fans on the edge, the Heat have officially started their 2026-27 season, and three more games are left in their schedule for October.
The next game for Miami is on Tuesday, 27th October, when they will be going against the Dallas Mavericks. It will be held at the Kaseya Center in Miami. Then, two days later, their fifth game of this month will be against the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday, 29th October, at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta. Their last game of this month is just a day before Halloween, locking horns with the Indiana Pacers on Saturday, 30th October, again at the Kaseya Center. After the poor start to the season, it is critical that the Heat look to put their full effort into winning these three important games.
A Look At Games Played So Far

The beginning of this season has been full of disappointments for the Miami Heat, who, after three losses, stand at 0-3. Miami started its official 2026 season last week on Wednesday, 21st October, and had its season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves, where the latter had a blowout win by 131–106. This was the first match during the official season for Giannis Antetokounmpo, who made a Miami record with 35 points before getting fouled. The Heat surpassed only Minnesota in limited stats with 27 assists, 18 turnovers, and a 48.1% field goal percentage.
After the loss, coach Erik Spoelstra told the media the result was unexpected and disappointing. “Sure, we all felt horrible about it. That’s not how we wanted to present the season to our home fans,” According to him their opponents were more prepared than them. As for the Timberwolves, it was a productive match where Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball made some historic stats.
Their second match of this season was on Friday, 23rd October, with the Detroit Pistons. Here, Antetokounmpo was again good but was the sole top performer from Miami with 36 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists. Bam Adebayo only contributed 15 points and seven rebounds. They lost by 128–111.
And their third was just the next day on 24th October versus the Charlotte Hornets where they lost on the score of 115-110. This loss has been their worst so far, as they stand defeated by a comparatively weaker team, which even had two important players sitting out during the match. This loss is not well received at all by fans and critics alike, who are raising genuine and serious questions about the team’s capabilities even after some high-profile acquisitions.
The Last Word
The NBA season so far has been action-packed for Miami, despite the poor start to the year. They have excelled in the preseason, and coming up next, there are still plenty of opportunities for them to prove themselves. Their next match is against the Mavericks, with whom they share an intense history with Heat leading slightly at 40 wins in overall 79 games played together.
After that, they are scheduled to play Atlanta and Indiana, both of which Miami has been heavy on in the past on multiple occasions. Now fans are only praying that the Heat catch up to speed and become dominant again.
