HONG KONG: Legendary singer and actor Alan Tam recently delighted fans by posting photos of a star-studded gathering featuring some of Hong Kong's biggest showbiz veterans.
The post quickly went viral, with fans calling it a "once-in-a-lifetime group photo".
The 76-year-old star caught up with his long-time friends, screen legends Jackie Chan and Eric Tsang, on Oct 23, sharing several snaps from the evening on the Chinese social media platform Weibo.
Music power couple George Lam and Sally Yeh also joined the fun, happily posing for photos alongside the group.
Writing in Chinese, Tam shared his excitement: "I ran into Lau Kar Wing earlier this evening, and to my surprise, I found myself dining with the stars of Armour Of God, Till Death Do We Scare and The Sound Of Bang Bang. A moment truly worth cherishing."
Earlier that evening, Tam had bumped into veteran director Lau Kar Wing, who previously directed Tam in the hit horror-comedy Till Death Do We Scare (1982) and the comedy Play Catch (1983).
The reunion brought together iconic figures from the golden era of Hong Kong cinema and pop music spanning the 1970s to the 1990s—a legendary group collectively responsible for billions at the box office and countless music awards.
Tam starred with Chan, 72, in the action comedy Armour Of God (1986), which was co-directed by Chan and Tsang.
Tam also starred in the horror comedy Till Death Do We Scare (1982) with Tsang, 73.
Tam, a member of Hong Kong pop band The Wynners, has also worked with Lam, 79, on music variety show The Sound Of Bang Bang, which was aired in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
Lam is married to Yeh, 65.
According to Hong Kong media outlet HK01, the photos sparked a wave of nostalgia online.
One fan commented: "This table represents the golden age of Hong Kong's entertainment industry."
Another added: "Truly a legendary chance encounter."
