Kohima, Oct 26: Assam Rifles organised a free medical camp at Chiephobozou in Kohima district on October 26 under the Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme (AR CAP) 2026–27, providing healthcare services, medicines and supportive medical aids to villagers.
The camp aimed to improve access to basic healthcare, promote preventive health practices and address the medical needs of the local population.

A team of three doctors, including a dental specialist, a medical officer and an Ayush doctor, provided consultations and conducted general medical examinations, blood pressure monitoring, Body Mass Index (BMI) assessments and dental check-ups. The team also educated villagers on maintaining good health and adopting preventive healthcare practices.
Prescribed medicines were distributed free of cost following consultations, helping reduce the financial burden on patients and improve access to essential healthcare.

As part of the initiative, Assam Rifles also distributed walking sticks, cervical pillows and lumbar support belts to individuals requiring mobility assistance and physical support.
The camp highlighted the importance of community-based healthcare outreach in bringing essential medical services closer to people. By combining consultations, health assessments, medicine distribution and supportive aids, the initiative sought to address immediate healthcare needs while raising awareness about personal health and well-being.
