I always enjoy taking off from Faro, especially on a sunny day when you can see so much from the window.

First, there are the waterways and salt pans of the Ria Formosa, alongside the marshland and green patches around Faro. As the plane climbs higher, the view opens out across the Algarve with the scattered buildings, fields and golf courses.

Then the coast comes into view. Quarteira is there, spread out at the edge of the sea, with its long sandy beach running along the town and the Atlantic in the afternoon sun.
I just love watching the land meet the sea from above on a day like this.

One of my favourite bits of flying out of Faro is the view. It's constantly changing as we climb, and there's always something new to see.
